The Parish of Great and Little Sampford
Welcome to The Sampfords' Parish Council website. Here you will find all the latest community news, useful contacts and, of course, a picture gallery of our beautiful parish.
The population of the Civil Parish at the 2011 Census was 586. Great Sampford has two churches; The Baptist church, which also owns a small hall. The Church of England Parish church is called St. Michael's.
It is connected to Hempstead by Howe Lane.
Also in the village is a primary school housing the village hall, a play area, a cricket ground and a public house. The play area includes a skate park donated by the National Lottery fund, a small football pitch, a zip wire, a table tennis table, and a tennis court.
Little Sampford also has a church, called St Mary the Virgin.
From time to time the Parish Council has cause to update and amend the Emergency Plan.
In the event of a major emergency or disaster, the Parish Council keeps a list of resources available locally that could be mobilised straight away. This constitutes the Emergency Plan.
To this end we are asking for people with the following skill sets, experience or resources to please give details and contact information via email to Rhian Chappell:
-Water supplies in the form of pond, well or swimming pool
-Agricultural machinery including land moving equipment
-First aid/Medical/Nursing training
